Alice Shopland is the founder of Angel Food, New Zealand’s leading vegan cheese company. A committed vegan since 2004, she established Angel Food in 2006 to make plant-based eating easier, tastier, and more accessible.

Her background as a freelance writer and her years of experience in the food industry inspired her first book, Cheese Matters: for vegans and other kind humans — a thoughtful, engaging exploration of the cultural, emotional, and ethical place of cheese in our lives.

Alice is passionate about positive, practical change. She believes kindness and creativity are often more effective than confrontation, though she admits to enjoying the solidarity of a good protest.
